This coast is not as highly developed as the Costa del Sol which is to the South, nor is it as natural and unspoilt as the Costa Calida, which separates it's bigger playground costa. They all share the healthiest climate in Europe, with lots of sunshine, mild temperatures and low humidity.

Torrevieja, probably the most select area of the Costa Blanca, is an interesting town, situated between two salt lakes and the blue Mediterranean sea which combine to guarantee stable year-round temperatures and mild winters. The old town has expanded with many new residents, but it's character, customs and traditions are still thriving. There are six popular beaches in and around the town.
Guardamar del Segura, another traditional Spanish town, has one main beach which is long and beautiful, with large sand banks so the shallows go a long way out to sea. The town offers beachfront and more urban apartments close to all amenities.
Orihuela, whilst main urban areas are well away from the sea, there are many beaches within the municipality offering safe and clean bathing, toether with all the amenities. Campoamor has a great beach and a marina with small sailing boats and luxury yachts.
Santa Pola, and La Marina offer beaches that are in harmony with the natural dunes, reed beds and pinewood surroundings.
North of Alicante airport is the port city resort of Alicante with its wide tiled esplanades, popular beaches, world-class shopping, and local and international cuisine. Many British people are buying closeby to enjoy the city-style cosmopolitan atmosphere and excellent flight connections.
