Getting There

  • LINK|1012

Benidorm's beaches and many leisure facilities has made it the Costa Blanca's main tourist area. It boasts some of the best beaches in Europe, with 3 miles of fine sand which is cleaned daily, the quality of the services and activities, and the clear water being the main reasons why it attracts so many visitors. Since the 1950's Benidorm has changed dramatically in its appearance, once a small fishing village it is now a sprawl of skyscrapers and hotels. Benidorm has cleaned up its act since the 80's and now the young British holiday makers and 'larger louts' who gave it a bad name are no longer the majority of the tourists to this town. Now you will find more and more elderly holiday makers from England, Germany and Northern Spain come to Benidorm.

Activities

All tastes and activities are catered for: gastronomy, music, culture, cinema and regional excursions. You can take a stroll in the Parque de Elche or through the narrow streets of the old town centre; take a trip to the Sierra Gelada, or go swimming and sunbathe on the magnificant golden beaches. At night, you can enjoy the famous nightlife, where whatever your age or preference, there's bound to be something you'll like. Trips inland to enchanting villages such as La Nucia, Polop, Callosa d'En Sarria and Finestrat will provide you the opportunity to discover the beauty of the surrounding mountains and the staggering seaviews. The local restaurants offer meals suiting a variety of budgets and occasions. And, if you can find the time, there are opportunities in sports ranging from: snorkelling, diving, water-skiing and sailing to athletics, tennis, horse riding and golf and much more.

Festivals

Throughout the year, you can enjoy the many festivities held in Benidorm: the Carnival in February, followed by the Fallas in March, the Hogueras (bonfires) in June, the Moors and Christians later on, and a long list of fiestas right through to November, when the town's patron saint, our Lady of Suffrage and St James, is celebrated.

Property in Benidorm

Strong rental market as might be expected for Europe's favourite sun n' sand resort. Still good buy opportunities in the many condos in and around the town, but even better in places like Cala Finistrat, La Nucia, Polop de la Marina, Albir, Altea and Alfas del Pi. Strong mix of quality apartments and villas in the hills in developments like Sierra Cortina and Altos La Nucia.
